Prof. Dr. Mart Kalm is an Estonian architecture historian and critic. He has been one of the founders of the Estonian Museum of Architecture in 1991. Since 1992 he is employed by the Estonian Academy of Arts. Since 2015 he leads the academy as the Rector.  He has authored several books, incl. Architect Alar Kotli (1994), Estonian Functionalism. A Guidebook (1998), Estonian 20th Century Architecture (2001) etc. He was the editor and one of the main authors for the History of Estonian Art. Vol. 5, 1900-1940, awarded nationally as the best history book in 2010. Kalm has co-chaired the Estonian Delegation at the UNESCO World Heritage Committee 2010-2013 and has been active member for DOCOMOMO. In 2010 he was elected a member of the Estonian Academy of Sciences.
