Artis Zvirgzdiņš has received a Master’s degree in architecture at the Riga Technical University. During 1998-2008 was an architect in various leading Latvian architecture studios. Since 2005 – the Chief editor of Latvian architecture and urbanist platform A4D (www.a4d.lv). He is also, an expert of European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award from Latvia. A. Zvirgzdiņš has participated in research and exhibition projects, workshops and competitions related to architecture, urban planning, and public space. He has also presented lectures in universities, reported in conferences on the same issues. More than 200 analytic and critical articles on architecture and urban issues in A4D and magazine Latvijas architektūra (Architecture of Latvia) and in other media were published by A. Zvirgzdiņš. He is also guiding architecture tours in Riga for architects and those interested in architecture and urban development.
